GPGMail: signed mail with big attachment shows gibberish on the screen when displayed from Sent folder

11th march 2015:
I see the problem, too. Usually when I forward a mail from my inbox. The forwarded mail shows up above the mail I still have selected and it's loading a while and then it's only showing base64-gibberish and the multipart boundaries like Luc already showed.
The base64 is probably from the PDF file itself, not the encrypted message, since I can see plain HTML content at the beginning (first part of the multipart mail).
The incoming mail was neither encrypted nor signed.
The outgoing (forwarding) mail was not encrypted, but signed by me
(using GPG Tools v2.5b5).
The mails where this problem occurred had PDF files attached. I
have realised it as Luc has mentioned it.
The recipient of the forwarded mails says that everything is fine
on his end, so he received the mail just fine.
I failed to mention that if I send signed mails with PDF
attachments, there is no problem.
I'm sending them as plain text messages. The forwarded mails were
all HTML messages. I don't recall if they also had a plaintext
part, since I already removed them
Still happens with v2.5b6. Same use case as I previously described.

Hey Max,
could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build (please install the Suite not just a single component) and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA1 to verify the download.
All the best, steve

Hey Max,
just a quick ping. Did you try the nightly? Has this issue ever happened again? Have you updated to OS X 10.11?

No, sorry, I didn't have time to try the nightly.
I didn't see the issue lately. I am running on OS X 10.11.5 with GPGMail 2.6b2. I just opened a few old forwarded mails that contained PDF attachments.
Support Staff 5 Posted by Steve on 09 Jun, 2016 12:09 PM
max, I think the old mails that show in this broken matter, will probably continue to do so. If you need to access those, please do so via webmail. They are sent correctly and also not damaged, so completely accessible. It's just that mail somehow manages to show them in this broken manner.
It would be interesting to observe, if 10.11.5 and the latest nightly GPG Suite still can cause such mails in the sent folder.

I know that it is/was just a display bug in Mail. I just forwarded a mail with HTML content and a PDF attachment and it shows up correctly in my Sent folder. (Still not running the latest nightly but the version mentioned above)

I have this same problem. I occurs rarely but I believe when it's happened, as it just did, it occurs after updating to the new release. I just updated to the new release that came out on July 4, 2016. In my sent folder I see gibberish for the email I forwarded with a single pdf. This is in the sent folder. I can not attach the email because it has sensitive information.

Ok, this is now happening with any email that I send that is a reply or forward that has any type of attachment - .png, .jpg, .pdf, etc. My reply has text-encoded content instead of the image-type file making the reply a mess. I may need to uninstall GPG it seems?

Problem goes away if I turn off GPGMail so it's clearly the culprit.

What was the solution? Was there any?
Same problem here with El Capitan 10.11.5, Mail 9.3, up-to-date version of GPGtools (at least says updater ;) ). Problem when opening sent signed Emails, with more than one attachment.
Can I provide any further information that helps?
Best regards
John
