GPG Mail: Buying Support Plan not possible: Product not found by Paddle
Summary:
Buying Support Plan not possible: Product not found by Paddle
Steps to Reproduce:
Go to GPGtools.org Website
click on: https://gpgtools.org/support-plan link
In the overlay click on “buy for $23.90”
Now either of two things happen:
Paddle refuses a connection completely.
Browser tells me: “checkout.paddle.com refused to connect.”
OR
I get redirected to
https://buy.paddle.com/product/496039
which results in a HTTP 200 (not 404) by Paddle with the Text:
Page Not Found
Sorry, the page you were looking for could not be found.
[Contact Support Button]
Expected
At least the product should be found. Getting Cloudflare/Google CAPTCHAs instead and after proving to a robot that I'm human…
I get the info that GPGtools is not a known product at Paddle.
I had generously received a voucher for GPGTools by Steve 2018-10-16 but that one doesn't work and buying a new support plan didn't work either.

Hi there,
thanks for reporting this problem.
This sounds very much like there is some connection problem to Paddle. It would explain all three issues a) unable to activate b) unable to visit the direct buy link c) unable to initiate purchase on website.
I just test all three and things worked as expected. Are you using any blocking tool that may be at work here? Or using other firewall software that may be preventing a connection to Paddle?
I was not seeing any catpcha at all when testing.
Tested on 10.14.5 and Firefox 68. But that should not make up for the different behavior.
All the best,
Steve

Looks like it was only a temporary problem with Paddle. Unchanged setup (Same browser, same settings, same network, etc.), product is available and ordering did work.
Got a support plan. :-)
Sorry for the noise.
