GPGMail plugin reports as expired when using non-GPGTools gnupg

I used to run a combination of the gnupg from Fink with the GPGMail plugin from GPGTools. Ever since the expiration mechanism has been introduced, this combination no longer works. Apparently, using a non-GPGTools version of gnupg causes immediate expiration. I see no reason why the expiration is being enforced this way. Unfortunately, I cannot check this myself in the code, because the beta expiration code is not open source.

    Hi Michael,

please download and install GPG Suite beta 4 from our website. During the installation use customize and deselect MacGPG2.

Let me know if that brings you back to working state.

    All the best,
    steve

Yes, the current beta version works fine for me with an external (non-GPGTools) installation of gnupg.
