what do you mean with "after locating my key"? Did you transfer
your keys?

This sounds like you maybe only exported the public key. What
type to you see in GPG Keychain for the imported key? You can not
add UserIDs to public keys, so the behavior then would be
expected.

All the best,

You’re absolutely right. I had located my my existing
public key rather than transferring my private/public key pair to
my new computer. Apologies for the confusion, and thanks for
following up. I will mention that I am getting the recurring
message indicating that GPG Mail has expired and clicking
“Okay” causes the Mail application to quit. However, I
believe this has already been reported, and you’re probably
already aware of this issue—just sharing my experience.
Thanks!

Best Regards

transfere sec/pub keys or your entire keyring to your new machine.
Great!

As for the issue: yes, that's a bug we are very aware
of. It is being investigated and we'll update, as soon as we have a
solution available.

Stevetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/352061662014-11-10T21:35:06Z2014-11-10T21:35:32ZCan't add User ID to existing Key

Hi everybody,

we'd like to apologize again for this annoyance.
We've managed to fix this really stupid bug and have a new test
build for you.

It would be great if some of you could install the new build and
let us know if this fixes the problem as it should.

To test, please follow these steps:

Download the new GPGMail version:
https://releases.gpgtools.org/GPGMail-2.5b1-790.dmg
GPG Signature can be found at: https://releases.gpgtools.org/GPGMail-2.5b1-790.dmg.sig

Simply run the installer (no need to uninstall it first)
(Should you have uninstalled GPG Suite in the meantime, please
re-run the Yosemite-Beta1 installer and after that, install this
new GPGMail version)

Open Mail.app -> Preferences -> GPGMail and make sure
you're seeing build 790b

Let us know if everything works as expected now.
