print issue

Hi. Currently using the latest beta release on Yosemite 10.10.1 (all software up to date) and seem to have an issue with printing emails with decrypted content. Printing emails with no encryption is fine. It might print one encrypted email (takes some time generating content) but then develops the spinning wheel of death and I have to force quit and completely restart to get Mail working again.
Similarly, Once I've printed one, and then try to select another email, I just get a blank screen and then, again, the spinning wheel and have to restart.
We have encrypted emails sent from our webshop which are decrypted locally to process orders.

    Hi Toby,

very sorry to see you're running into problems.
Could you please open Console.app and check if there are error messages related to Mail?

    Hi Luke

This may be more than you want, but I've attached the full log for you in case there's more than one issue (and it goes beyond when it was happening).

    To put it in context:
The system (was 10.9 running the previous GPG) was upgraded yesterday afternoon with all updates.
Originally, I thought I would try installing the previous GPG Tools (for 10.9) just to see what happened. Mail kept crashing, so I installed the beta, and it seemed fine.
This morning I was informed that Mail wouldn't print (I hadn't checked that). I reinstalled the print drivers and created a new printer (happens sometimes with our networked Canon copier).
I have done a permission repair using Disk Utility, and zapped the PRAM (hey, I figured it might help).

First one that comes up in the log is:
16/12/2014 9:34:32.290 am Mail[289]: Unable to load string table file: CFBundle 0x7f8e8b779690 (framework, loaded) / Localizable: The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format.

For info, we can read the decryption, and copy and paste the decrypted text into Word (etc.); it just seem to have an issue generating the content for printing - it won't get to bringing up the print dialogue box.

Thought it might be helpful to let you guys know while its still beta.

    Cheers

    Toby

    Hi Toby,

could you please post all version info of the installed tools as described here: http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/where-can-i-find-version-info-of...

Next I'd be curious to know if this problem exists only with GPGMail installed or not. To temporarily remove disable GPGMail:

    • shut down mail.app
    • open finder
    • navigate to /Library/Mail/Bundles or ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and copy GPGMail.mailbundle to your desktop
    • now delete GPGMail.mailbundle from the original folder

Restart mail and check in Mail.app > Preferences if you still see GPGMail. It should be gone.

Let us know how that goes.

    All the best,
    steve
