Cannot encrypt emails

This is a problem with GPGMail

GPG Suite: Yosemite Beta 3
GPG Keychain: Version 1.2b2 (954b)

I am using an Exchange account.

  • In Mail.app preferences, the GPG Mail shows a green light. But when I try to encrypt a new email, all the boxes in the new mail window stay grayed out and I cannot encrypt any emails.

  • I have checked that the email address sin Mail.app is exactly the same as the one in my GPG keychain. I have also checked that the recipient's public key is in GPG keychain.

Is there someway I have to reinstall or reverify my Mail.app with GPG keychain?

Many thanks.

    Hi conrad,

hmm... could you please check in GPG Keychain if the subkeys of your secret key are not expired? That's sometimes the problem and we still have to implement a better visual clue or error message for it.

No. That is not an issue. Any other suggestions? Really struggling without use of any encryption at all. Is this a problem for Exchange users only?

This shouldn't be related to Exchange at all. I thought at first you were having problem decrypting a message when receiving one.

The first problem is that GPGMail doesn't seem to recognize your key as being available for signing a message. This is currently a must for it to work (due to some internal limitations).
Just to make sure you can sign message with your gpg key, could you please run the following command in Terminal?

echo "this is a test" | gpg -sau

    (don't write < and >)

The response is: gpg: missing argument for option "-sau"

Under user IDs for my key it says "Validity: Revoked"

How do I restore it, please?

Apologies - the problem seems to have been with my key, which was revoked. It does not seem to be a problem with GPG Tools.

    Hi Conrad,

ah ok, that explains it. As mentioned before, we should have a better indication of such problems in GPGMail directly.

Very glad this is solved for you now.
