Encrypted Status Icon
The Encrypted status icon now shows locked (see attached), when the e-mail is previewed (and correctly displayed) in Mail 8.1 Previously, the icon showed unlocked (but encrypted). Just wanted to verify that this is intended behavior for now and for future versions.

Hi Ben,
good eyes! Yes, this is an intended change. We had quite a few users who mistook the open lock was indicating "a mail that is not encrypted at all".
So now we show a closed lock, although your mail has been decrypted.
All the best,
steve

Hello Steve,
so, if I understood it right, it means that the following sentences in the First Steps article is no more true, correct?
”You'll see an open lock, which means that the message was successfully decrypted.
If everything worked as expected, you should never see the closed lock, but if you see it, that indicates there was an error decrypting your message.”
Also the german version of the sentences:
”Du wirst ein offenes Schloss sehen, was bedeutet, dass diese Nachricht erfolgreich entschlüsselt wurde.
Wenn alles nach Plan funktioniert, solltest du nie ein geschlossenes Schloss sehen. Solltest du es dennoch einmal sehen, bedeutet das, dass es einen Fehler beim Entschlüsseln der Nachricht gab.”
Thank you for verifying!
And in general: Thanks for this great application and your great labour! (I've just implemented gpgtools yesterday and it seems to be running wonderfully!)
: ) Best wishes, Justinian

Hi Jan,
you are absolutely right about this. Revamping those Getting started tutorials is on our to-do.
We'll address it hopefully sooner than later. Those articles are important entry points for our users.
