When encrypting e-mails with GPGMAIL in Yosemite, Swedish characters are replace by a "Space".
We are talking about ÅÄÖ characters that are used in Swedish language and other nordic languages.

Somehow they are replaced.. Before Yosemite that did not use to happen. And it's only related to when I send an encrypted e-mail, not for regular e-mail communications.

Hi Marcus, I seem to have a similar client set up as you and Swedish chars seems to work fine for me.

    Running 10.10.1 and Version 1.2b2 (954b) and Mail 8.1

Did you upgrade to the lastest GPG-beta?

    Cheers/p

    Hi,

I'll need to try to send to some more people then, maybe it's on the receivers end the problem is.. Since he get's the messages like that. They look fine in my sent box.

You probably have more than one e-mail account. Make a key for one of your other e-mail accounts and send in-between to test.

Yeah, the problem seems to be on his end, he's running a windows client with OpenPGP. Problem solved! At least for me :P

    Hi Marcus,

thanks for taking the time to report this problem.

    • is there any MS Exchange server involved in your or the recipients setup?
    • what OpenPGP client is the recipient using?

Inline/PGP might work but it has several drawbacks and is not a documented standard.

    All the best,
    steve
