large image in composed message showing up as Base64, hanging and crashing Mail

I can repeatedly hang Mail by composing a message with a largish jpg in it. I save it in Drafts, then try to edit it, and mail hangs. Also happens with larger images. When I view it, I see the image Base64 encoded, with it's Apple-Mail MIME separator. Attached is one that just did it, although I've tried others as small as 139KiB.

   I just installed the patch linked in that thread, but I can't test due to the expiry issue. :-/
