I generate a key pair just like shown, uploaded to the server. I then go to my mail.app in macOS Sierra and I don't get the two buttons, that encrypt the emails like shown in all of your literature. I have revoked key pairs and started over again and it will not come up in my mail.app

What did you expect instead

I expected to see the encryption buttons

Describe steps leading to the problem.

I have installed the GPG software and I do get the same working panel as I see on other screenshots and tutorials. I then generate a pair of keys making careful consideration of the details and spelling. At that point I don't see a checkbox to the left of my email address like I see on your literature. I go to my email and begin to write a new email to myself and when I have input all of the data I don't have the 2 buttons that are supposed to encrypt my emails. I have installed and uninstalled, I have made new key pairs and revoked, only to make new key pairs. I have tried to make key pairs for multiple addresses but again, I don't have the checkbox to the left of my email addresses in the main panel view. I try to write a new email making very sure that the email addresses are correct and I don't see the two buttons that encrypt. I really don't know what to do!

No other plugins

m.mcclymonttag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/425804502017-05-18T10:15:08Z2017-05-18T10:15:10ZNot getting the lock and encrypt keys in mail.app. I don't know what to do!!!

Having the exact same problem. Feel both stupid and irritated. What to do?!

Gtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/425804502017-05-18T15:40:24Z2017-05-18T15:40:25ZNot getting the lock and encrypt keys in mail.app. I don't know what to do!!!

installed the 2017beta instead. And now i get the icons. (my system: 10.12.4). So far so good, hopefully no other problem with the beta later.

Gtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/425804502017-05-18T18:57:04Z2017-05-18T18:57:05ZNot getting the lock and encrypt keys in mail.app. I don't know what to do!!!

I did the same and it works like a champ! I wish I would have done this in the first place instead of the time I spent thinking I had done something wrong. Crisis averted!
