GPGMail: Not able to decrypt messages

Mac Mail and seemingly other programs are not able to work with the GPG Keychain program. The latest build of 2017.1b3 is showing up as installed/updated however when I visit Mac Mail it sees GPGMail as Version: 2.7b3 and Build: 1215b. In addition, when I try to open a .asc file, it shows up as “Verification failed: No signature found”. I can however manually copy and paste the key into the Keychain. The fact that MacMail is not able to seemingly use the Keychain and that I cannot double click the files from my Downloads folder leads me to believe there may be issues with it interacting within Sierra.

Expected
To be able to open encrypted emails via MacMail and GPGMail

    Hi Brad,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

I will try to address the points you mentioned one by one:

    1. installed versions
To see detailed information about the versions you have installed on your mac, please open GPGPreferences > About

    2. asc file not verifying
Do you know what information is included in that .asc file? Is it a signature or an OpenPGP key? What happens if you open GPG Keychain and drag and drop the asc file into the main window?

    3. GPGMail in Mail.app not working
What makes you think GPGMail is not working? Could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA256 to verify the download.

    All the best,
    steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.
