    Hey Thomas,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA256 to verify the download.

    All the best,
    steve

Disclaimer: This is a development version which has not been thoroughly tested yet - bugs or crashes are to be expected. Thanks for helping us test.

Found the problem, my private key was gone. I didn't delete it so it is a strange behaviour. Could GPG delete eccidentally delete keys?

    Hi Thomas,

oh, that's very interesting. Your keys should never be touched by our tools, unless you actively delete a key in GPG Keychain. Very few times it happened that the permissions of the .gnupg folder got changed, but that would cause GPG Keychain to show no keys at all. Fixing the permissions of the .gnupg folder, would make the keys re-appear.
There's one other chance your keys could be in danger, if you change the locking mechanism of gnupg in your .gnupg/gpg.conf

Could you have a look in there? Look for something like lock-never
