GPGMail: Reply to encrypted message doesn't quote decrypted text
When I reply to an entire encrypted message, the quoted text contains the encrypted attachment name, like:
But if I select any (decrypted) text in the message, that text is quoted.
Expected
I would expect the plaintext to be quoted.
(This might be a feature, if no text is quoted, but it's confusing to have an inconsistency depending on whether text is selected or not.)

Hi Tim,
I am not sure if I understand this request correctly. Mail.app by default cites either the entire mail (nothing selected) or the selected text (as soon as some text is selected).
We do not interfere with that default.
Best,
steve

Hi Steve,
When replying to some encrypted messages with nothing selected, I see Mail quoting the message as if it contains a single attachment containing the encrypted data.
I expect to see Mail quoting the decrypted text of the message.
(It seems that your ticketing system filters out things that look like HTML. I think that's why my report is incomplete here.)

That sounds indeed like a bug then. Can you specify if there is a specific structure of the encrypted messages that end up as attachments when replied to?
We have not yet seen such behavior.

I can't reproduce this issue, it might be dependent on my hardware token.
And I'm not sure which message caused it.
If you can retrieve the original text of my bug report (it appears that the encrypted attachment name was stripped out of the bug report), it could help me be sure I have the right message.

Hi Tim,
if you find out anything new, keep us posted.
I don't think we can recover the stripped information. Maybe replying via your browser (instead of email) would be worth a try to see if then information gets stripped as well.
Best,
steve
