unfortunately this happens due to a bug in macOS Mail on Mojave. We have filed the bug with Apple but it is unclear how long it will take them to resolve the issue.

Following are the steps that should fix this problem:

Close Mail.app

Open Terminal and run the following command:

sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/DataVaults

Open Mail.app

After following these steps, Mail should be working properly again.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/467871782019-01-16T18:55:48Z2019-01-16T18:55:48ZGPG Suite 2391n does not let Mail start again

Thanks -- this is finally the solution I was looking for. (until Apple fixes the bug, that is)

boricetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/467871782019-01-23T17:59:53Z2019-01-23T17:59:53ZGPG Suite 2391n does not let Mail start again

@Borice: Good to hear the workaround did work for you.

Glad this is solved for you. I'm closing this discussion. Should you need further assistance or have questions you can re-open this discussion here or open a new one any time.

Let's hope Apple will invest the time to properly fix this bug.
