Hi,
if you have GPGPreferences installed you could try to run the "Fix GPGTools" script.
Open System Preferences -> GPGPreferences -> About and click the "Fix GPGTools" button.
Let us know if it worked!

I'll add to this :) just happened upon GPGTools and wanted to give it a try after I had problem after problems with Symantec's programs. I'm on 10.7.3 and after I downloaded then installed the program I don't have anything showing up in my messages. I tried the "Fix GPGTools" and still nothing.
Hope to give this a shot soon :)

Hi ampeck,
could you please check if Mail.app -> Preferences -> GPGMail is there?
Thanks!

Also, please to everybody here: we've released a new version of GPGMail a few days ago.
You can find it here -> GPGMail a30: https://github.com/downloads/GPGTools/GPGMail/GPGMail-2.0a30.dmg
Please install it and let us know if it works!

No, it does not work. It says it is for Lion only. As I said in the OP, I am using Snow Leopard.

Hi Comisvoyager,
I'm sorry, it seems I didn't correctly answer your question the first time around.
I didn't notice you were still on 10.6.8.
Unfortunately it's hard to tell what you're problem could be, since GPGMail for 10.6 hasn't been updated.
We're very focused on getting a stable version out for Lion, since we've had to write it from scratch for Lion, due to the changes Apple made to Mail.app Lion.
Once we're finished with that effort, we'll try to backport those changes to Snow Leopard.
There's no way to tell how long this is gonna last, because we're a very small active team, 4-5 people, and do this in our spare time, which is not enough unfortunately.
Could you check your Console.app logs for any error messages from Mail.app?

I do not see any errors from Mail.app.
When I click Fix GPGTools in System Preferences, I get these messages in Console:
2/17/12 7:58:07 PM defaults[852]
The domain/default pair of (com.apple.loginwindow, LoginHook) does not exist
2/17/12 7:58:07 PM defaults[854]

Hey Cosmic,
could you please run the following debugging steps and post them to this discussion here as an attachment (not via mail!). That might help.
All the best, steve

"could you please run the following debugging steps and post them to this discussion"
What debugging steps?

My bad. A link would have helped a lot I guess. Here it is: http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/how-can-i-generate-debugging-inf...

Does the installer from http://nightly.gpgtools.org/ work for you?

Cosmic, should your issue remain, feel free to re-open this discussion. Closing for now.

This comment was split into a new discussion: GPGTools does nothing to Apple Mail
I have two Macs, a laptop and desktop, both running the latest version of Snow Leopard, and neither the version of GPGTools on the front page nor the nightly build add anything to Mail.
Also, after installing the nightly build, I there is an error saying the Mail plugin is incompatible.

Could you please attach some logs from the nightly installer: while installing, please click on "Menu: Window > Installer Log" (or press CMD+L), switch to "Show All Logs". See http://www.gpgtools.org/images/InstallerLog.png for a screenshot. (as stated at http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/how-can-i-generate-debugging-inf...)

I installed the version 2011.12.24, unistalled it, then installed it again. And now it is working.
18 Posted by Alex on 13 Mar, 2012 04:26 PM
Good to hear that. Could you please also verify if the nightly version is working on your system and if not attach the log file?
Support Staff 19 Posted by Steve on 14 Mar, 2012 10:34 AM
FYI: the nightly versions can be found here: http://nightly.gpgtools.org/
Support Staff 20 Posted by Steve on 27 Mar, 2012 11:41 AM
Cosmicvoyager: do you still experience your problem or was it solved with the nightly version of the installer?
Cheers, steve

Yes. Thanks.

Hehe, now I'm not sure if it's solved or still exists.
I assume it's fixed. So closing. Should it persist simply re-open the discussion.
All the best :)
