welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Can you check for updates to make sure you are using the latest GPG Suite.

When you say you entered your new email, do you mean you setup a new email account in Mail.app?

Could you send us a screenshot of your settings in Mail.app > Preferences > GPG Mail.

This KB-article explains what to do if you forgot your password or lost access to your secret key.

Let me know if that information did help you to recover your password or move forward. if you have additional questions don't hesitate to ask.

All the best,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I kept trying to figure out what the passphrase might be. I was never asked to create on when I added a key for the email address I was trying to add a key for. Finally I discovered it was the password I used to create my account with your web site. So I think I’m good now. The box only popped up once this morning when I started this email prompting me for the passphrase. I entered it and the box went away happy I guess.

thanks for the update. That sounds like good news. When you refer to our website you mean this support forum? The OpenPGP you create and it's password are completely independent of that forum password. You can see where the password for a new openPGP key is asked for when you open GPG Keychain and click the "New" icon.

The reason you were only asked once for your password is maybe that it was then stored in macOS keychain, in which case you would no longer be asked for it.

Best,
