Plain text encryption Problem

I've been attempting to encrypt a selection of plain Text but everytime I've been receiving this error.
Any help would be much appreciated

   Unsure if this is related but I am also unable to select any secret Keys prior to Encrypting

   Hi Ant,

   could you please open GPG Keychain Access
   and check the expiration Dates of your keys

   Thanks for the speedy reply, None of my keys expire for at least 4 years.

   I switched to the most recent set of nightlies and that seems to have solved the problem.
