GPG Keychain: passphrase to unlock openpgp

I suddenly get a message which keeps buying ahead “please enter the passphrase to unlock the openpgp secret key: “Jacques Beckmann [email blocked]” 4096-bit RSA key, ID B9996A2FC1E4317D, created 2017-12-22 (main key ID 9E36328C89E535C8).
I have no idea what to do and the key I entered (in various formats) was apparently not the good one (I made three attempts and erred 3/3).
Please help

Jacqui Beckmann

Unfortunately I have nothing more to add, just filling space hoping this report will reach you.

    Hi Jacqui,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

The pinentry requests you are seeing could be happening due to the migration from MacGPG 2.0 to 2.2.

Please visit the following KB-article and let me know if that brings you back to the expected state.

"Thanks Steve for your response but opening the terminal and pasting the recommended command line did not help."

Have you looked in macOS keychain access if it holds any entires for "gnupg"?

I have an entry for [email blocked] and one for my own email

Isn't there a simple explanation how to proceed, for simple minded computer users?

Otherwise I would like to get the instructions how to uninstall this gpg as I don't want to have these recurrent problems

In case you are busy right now: you are looking at GPG Keychain while if you are looking for your OpenPGP password on your mac, you may want to open macOS Keychain Access (you can easily find that via the spotlight search at the top right of your mac). There you need to search for "gnupg".
