it is true that at the moment it‘s not possible to disable automated decryption of encrypted messages. That would however not necessarily help in this case.
What does help, is to disable the loading of remote content in Mail preferences.

Since this feature request has come up in the past though, we will add your voice to that request!

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/452807082018-05-14T18:03:09Z2018-05-16T08:54:03ZGPGMail: Disable automatic decrypting in Mac Mail

Thanks, Luke, will do!

I guess I misunderstood the decrypting option. I suppose the safest bet would be to remove GPGMail altogether, but retain other parts of the suite. I've done this in the past when there were compatibility problems with Mail.

Adamtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/452807082018-05-14T18:28:04Z2018-05-14T18:28:04ZGPGMail: Disable automatic decrypting in Mac Mail

+1 to that as well!

Ondrej Führertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/452807082018-06-26T11:17:43Z2018-06-26T11:17:43ZGPGMail: Disable automatic decrypting in Mac Mail

Hi all,

excuse the late reply - the last weeks were very busy with the release of GPG Suite 2018.2 and 2018.3.

2018.2 brought the efail fixes to macOS High Sierra and 2018.3 includes the backport of those fixes to macOS Sierra.

Best,
