if you switch to GPG Keychain after copying a public key, GPG Keychain should recognize that and ask you whether or not you want to import that key. As an alternative you can press
CMD + V
after activating GPG Keychain.

If that is not happening for you, that might be a bug. Would you mind sharing the public key where this doesn’t work?

N.B.: Sometimes keys published on websites include unnecessary HTML. While we try to clean that up and remove it as good as possible, it might lead to a public key not being properly recognized.

Hope that helps.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/450920012018-04-12T20:09:07Z2018-04-12T20:09:08ZGPG Keychain: Cannot copy/paste public key to import

Interesting. That's useful (if pretty opaque). Adding a menu item of
"Import from clipboard" might make it more apparent that this can be done. But I'll look for it in the future.

Dave Myrontag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/450920012018-04-18T16:32:05Z2018-04-18T16:32:05ZGPG Keychain: Cannot copy/paste public key to import

That might be an useful addition. We'll discuss this.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
