Enigmail: sending an email and the attachment .asc

I use the GPG tools with the Enigmail plugin for Thunderbird mail application.
I understand that the plugin is very handy for automatically decrypt a message, when receiving.

When sending mail the receiver gets an attachment .asc (with the encrypted message). People get confused.

Is it possible that with sending an email it will send the content of the .asc file rather than the file as an attachment?
