GPGMail: Apple Mail does not display S/MIME encyrption symbol

After having installed GPGMail on my Mac, the Mail app does not display the S/MIME encryption symbol (lock) any more, even though the emails are S/MIME encrypted.

GPGMail should not interfere with Mail’s display of the encryption symbol for S/MIME encrypted emails.

Checked: when I disable the plugin, the encryption symbols reappear.
Note: The symbol for signed emails is not affected (does not disappear).
