GPGMail: Mail spins with beachball

Recently, I’ve been routinely running into a scenario where Mail just hangs with a spinning beach ball when I reply to a message.

This usually happens after I've sent a few emails, and "feels like" it may be a timing as GPGMail is stuck doing multiple things and can’t get out of its own way.

Expected
No beachball.

Additional info
I saved a sample but don’t see any way to attach that here, so I’ll share this relevant bit of it that shows GPGMail is running a background task and waiting for it to finish:

    Hi Dave,

we are very sorry you are having issues with our latest version of GPG Suite.
If this issue happens again, could you send us a spin dump and sample of both Mail and org.gpgtools.Libmacgpg.xpc?

    That would be really helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hey Dave,

are your issues persisting using macOS 10.13.5 and GPG Suite 2018.3?

    Best,
    steve
