GPG 2017.3: "Unusable public key gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: Unusable public key"

I just extended the key's expiration date; this may have something to do with it.

    Hi Randolph,

    did you check both the key tab as well as the subkey tab? Is the validity ok for both tabs?

    And that was it; I had forgotten to update the expiration date of the subkey.
