BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE verification missing from the services menu when I select a PGP SIGNED MESSAGE and go to services, there is no option to verify the PGP SIGNED MESSAGE. When I go into system preferences->extensions. There is no option to add PGP SIGNED MESSAGE verification to the services menu, it worked in the past but after the latest update all the options are gone.

    Hi Jacki,

sorry to hear you are having issue after the update.

In which program are you trying to use GPGServices?

    1. Following is our 'How do I activate GPGServices?' Knowledge Base article

    URL: https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/faq-gpgservices/how-do-i-activate...

Sometimes GPGServices will not show in the contextual menu after installing GPG Suite. Please check, that GPGServices are activated correctly:

    • open System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services
    • GPGServices needs to be activated in two locations
      1. The Files and Folders section GPGS_sys_pref_files.jpg
      2. The Text section please activate: GPGS_sys_pref_text.jpg

With both sections enabled, retry to use GPGServices from the contextual menu. In case the issue persists, also try using the services menu from the menubar, e.g. TextEdit > Services > OpenPGP:

    2. Following is our ' GPGServices installed but not showing up in services menu' Knowledge Base article

    URL: https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/gpgservices-faq/gpgservices-insta...

In rare occasions, GPGServices may not show in the contextual menu and the menubar, despite being correctly activated.

    1. Download and install the latest GPG Suite

    Should the issue persist:

    1. Download and install Onyx
    2. launch Onyx
    3. select "Automation" and make sure all three "Maintenance" options are ticked
    4. press "Execute"to start
    5. once the process is done, restart your system

After the system restart, open TextEdit and see if GPGServices shows in the contextual menu.

Let me know if any of the above brought back the missing GPGServices option.

    Kindly,
    steve

Sorry, I just noticed Onyx is not ready for macOS 10.13. But maybe the other steps can still help, solve getting the missing option back.

It now shows up in my services menu when I right click but nothing happens when I select a pop message and click that option. I got this error. Then the GPGServices became unresponsive, I captured a sample of the service and a spindump of the unresponsive service.
The “OpenPGP: Verify Signature of Selection” service could not be used because the “GPGServices” application did not respond to a request for services.

Here is the sample and the spindump I took of the GPGServices process when it was unresponsive, it never became responsive, so I force restarted it.

It becomes unresponsive when I select all the text below when the text is inside text editor and click verify text of selection.
    steps
    1. open textedit
2.paste the below text into text editor, copy everything after the end of step 3
3.select all the text and right click on the selected text, go to services and click "verify Signature of selection".

    Hi,

we have recently released a new version of GPG Suite, 2017.2, which addresses this exact bug.
Could you please install it and let us know if GPG Services works as expected afterwards?

    Thanks!
