When a sender is sending an email to one or more recipients, but is missing one or more recipient keys, GPGMail doesn't warn the user that the email is going unencrypted. Currently GPGMail only warns if an unencrypted reply is being sent in response to an encrypted email.

Users should be able to enable a strict PGP mode whereby if a user has "Encrypt new messages by default" he should get a warning when trying to send any email that isn't encrypted. Sometimes sender isn't aware that one of recipient keys is missing, mistakenly thinking that the sent email is encrypted, when it isn't.

Thanks,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Thank you for your suggestion to add an option to always warn the user, when sending an unencrypted message with GPGMail.

We already have a feature request to add such an option and I've added your comments and vote to it. The number of votes is one factor that helps us to determine what feature to add next.

Unfortunately there's no workaround for this problem at the time being. We're very sorry for that. This discussion will be updated however, when the requested feature is available.

Have a nice day,
