Keys missing from GPG Keychain

In an old post I found that someone else had this same problem and discovered that the ~/.gnupg directory owner had been changed to root. I had the (almost) same problem - keys missing - but rather than the dir ownership mysteriously had changed to root, for me it was just the two files pubring.gpg and pubring.gpg~. Changing back to my owner fixed the problem.

Here's the thing - how did the other guy and I get in to this in the first place?

My only suspicion (with no theory or evidence) is that it may have happened when I installed some stuff for Perl. Principally, the following commands.

perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::CPAN'
cpan App:cpanminus
cpanm File::Next

Hope this helps.

    Hi David,

    welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

    Sorry for the late reply, this totally slipped through the cracks since it was quickly closed after creation.

    Did you close this discussion intentionally?

    All the best,
