rather strange you're seeing the message about the xpc service
since I thought that I had fixed this a few weeks ago.
However to start the xpc service manually the "fixer"-message
you're seeing, only applies to the preview build distributed to
donors.

If you're building from source, the command looks a bit
different

launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/org.gpgtools.Libmacgpg.xpc.plist

After that it should work.

Let us know if you manage to get it working. Thanks!

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/234509382013-01-04T22:42:19Z2013-01-04T22:43:53Z10.8.2 Mountain Lion - compiled from source but still experiencing problems

Hi Luke - Thank you for the swift reply.

I ran the modified comment from your post above, but the outcome
was the same: org.gpgtools.Libmacgpg.xpc.plist isn't present in
either /Library/LaunchAgents/ or ~/Library/LaunchAgents/

Is this likely a problem coming from the build process? Being
new to git and Xcode, so may have made an error. What's the way to
confirm I have built from the experimental branch?

casethejointtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/234509382013-01-04T23:00:17Z2013-01-04T23:00:17Z10.8.2 Mountain Lion - compiled from source but still experiencing problems

Ha, actually you may infact not have checked out the
experimental branch, since the wiki doesn't have that step.

So basically switch to the experimental branch first:

git checkout experimental

Then update the submodules

git submodule init
git submodule update

And then simply compile it using the build button in Xcode or
using make in the Terminal

Let us know if that (hopefully) leads to better results :)

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/234509382013-01-06T10:36:19Z2013-01-06T10:36:19Z10.8.2 Mountain Lion - compiled from source but still experiencing problems

This did indeed lead to better results, and I am now able to use
GPGMail within Mail.app on OSX 10.8.2 Looks to be smooth so far.
How regularly do you think I should be rebuilding on this
branch?

Thanks for the excellent support Luke.

casethejointtag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/234509382013-01-06T18:55:33Z2013-01-06T18:55:33Z10.8.2 Mountain Lion - compiled from source but still experiencing problems

Also working fine here with 10.8.2 & Xcode 4.5.2.

Thanks very much for the support.

Simon Wrighttag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/234509382013-01-07T11:08:40Z2013-01-07T11:08:40Z10.8.2 Mountain Lion - compiled from source but still experiencing problems

Glad this is working for you guys.

Casethejoint, just watch the repo for changes. But if we get all
the current known issues fixes we'll very likely move to a public
preview anyways.

If you need further help or have questions just open a new
discussion anytime.
