I deleted my public key from the keyring. I have generated a private key but now I don't have a public key. How do I generate a new one?

    Hi,

I've googled a little and found the following solution.
    You have two options:

1.) Export your private key and re-import it.

(If nothing changes, delete the private key first and import it again after that)

2.) Use the gpgsplit tool to create a new public key from the secret key.

For option 1 use GPG Keychain Access, select the secret key and click export in the toolbar. Check the box to export the secret key as well and save it on your harddisk. (Don't check the ASCII checkbox)

After that re-import it using GPG Keychain Access.

Let us know if it worked
