Mac GPGTools don't install (web)
I went to the gpgtools.org site and downloaded GPGTools-2011224.dmg, opened it and "installed" all files. The installer finished within a minute saying "The installation was successful". However, no files were installed (I verified this in that the disk space did not decrease. Also, "fine file" yields no new files. I am running a Mac quad-core Intel machine with OSX10.6.8.

Hi and thank you for your feedback. Could you please attach the install log: http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/why-did-the-installation-fail
Just to verify:
1. Open Terminal.app
2. Type "gpg" (without the quotes) and press enter
Does this state that "gpg was not found"?

Hi,
The 'old' gpg is still there, but no update occurred, and I am getting "decryption failed" error messages from GPGFileTool". From the terminal, I type "gpg" (without quotes) and it answers, "gpg: Go ahead and type your message ...".
I set up the log file window to "Show all logs" and ran the installer. The window is blank. It is also blank for with "Show errors & progress".

Are you really using GPGFileTool? Wow ;) this is from what, 1992? GPGFileTool has been out of development for a very long time and won't see any updates.
I recommend using GPGServices: http://www.gpgtools.org/gpgservices/index.html
That is the successor. Could you give that a try? Let us know if it works.
Also make sure to see how our tools (e.g. GPGServices) work: http://www.gpgtools.org/screencast.html

Thanks! I'll try GPG Services.
Being the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type of person that I am, and everything working well until I switched to a new (and much newer) computer, I never thought about switching.
I'll send a progress report later.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm on the new computer running MacOSX 10.6.8.
It is on this computer that I am having trouble getting GPG working.
