Conf Problem with two Hard drives
Hi,
I am unable to save in GPG Keychain Access (Version 1.0b6) a
KeyServer.

My Computer configuration is a MacBook Pro 13 with two drives
inside.
-Fast Dur (a 256 Go Crucial M4 SSD. with my 10.7 (everything except
my Home Directory) -Dur Dur ( a 1 To Samsung) with My Home
Directory.
I Understand that GPG Keychain Access (installed into Dur Dur)
is expected my home directory into the same hard drive but it it
not the case. How could change that ? I think I have the same
problem with GPG Preferences Panel.
Could you help me ?
Thanks

Hi ,
could you check both Fast Dur and Dur Dur if you find a directory called .gnupg.
Usually it should reside in your home dir, but giving your setup, the home directory not being on the same harddisk as the GPGTools installation, it might not be there.
I believe the fastet way to solve this quickly would be symlinking the .gnupg folder to the Fast Dur harddisk.

Also, could you describe how you configured OS X so it finds your home disk on the external drive, that will help debugging the issue.

Hi,
In my home directory into Dur Dur (path : /Volumes/Dur Dur/Users/fmusso) I have .gnupg directory. But inside there is not gpg.conf. It should be an issue during the installation.
Inside .gnupg, here is what I have :
6031126 0 drwx------ 2 fmusso staff 68 11 jan 11:29 private-keys-v1.d
6038016 8 -rw------- 1 fmusso staff 3379 11 jan 13:34 pubring.gpg
6037774 24 -rw------- 1 fmusso staff 8816 11 jan 13:30 pubring.gpg~
6031200 8 -rw------- 1 fmusso staff 600 11 jan 12:11 random_seed
6037778 8 -rw------- 1 fmusso staff 2873 11 jan 13:30 secring.gpg
6030827 8 -rw------- 1 fmusso staff 1480 11 jan 13:30 trustdb.gpg
I have tried to make a simlink, it still does not work.
What I find strange is that, according the log file, the program is looking in the good hard drive (dur dur) but the file gpg.conf is not existing. May be a problem during the installation. I have noticed during the installation (GPG TOOLS) that GPG PREFERENCES was not installed. I needed to do it after manually.
Regarding my configuration OS X in installed into Fast Dur (SSD) and after by going into Advanced Preference / User and I have indicated a new home into the Hard Drive : DUR DUR. Need more information ?
Thanks for your help

Yeah, infact as you said, it seems only gpg.conf is missing.
I'll add a pristine gpg.conf you can use.
Try to copy it into the .gnupg folder, maybe that solves your problem.
Symlink shouldn't be necessary in this case.

Great!
If we manage to setup a configuration like yours, we'll investigate what went wrong in the first place.
Have a nice day!
