Key upload to key server
When selecting the key to upload to the key server, and I highlight the key......the type is "sec". Are one of subordinate keys the public key? I do not want to upload the "sec" key.

please read our Quickstart Guide http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/first-steps-where-do-i-start-whe... You'll also find a link to the GPG Keychain Access wiki. If you still have questions after that please feel free to ask again for more support.
Basically: sec contains both sec and pub key. Pub is only the public key. When you upload a key GPG Keychain Access will only upload your public key.
