at the moment it's absolutely necessary, that your secret key
matches the address of the sender account setup in Mail.app
This will change in the future, since it's not a requirement of
gnupg but it currently is of GPGMail.

If your secret key doesn't match the address of your Mail.app
account, please add it as a UID.

Hope that helps.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/209917392012-11-18T15:46:46Z2012-11-18T15:46:46Zopen gpg grayed out, 10.7.5 osx

To: Luke, Le,

thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

I kinda believe you have two versions of GPGMail installed.
Could you please check /Library/Mail/Bundles and
~/Library/Mail/Bundles for GPGMail.mailbundle? And remove both
versions, after that re-install.

Also, could you attach a screenshot of the exact error
message?

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/209917392012-11-25T19:14:26Z2012-11-25T19:14:26Zopen gpg grayed out, 10.7.5 osx

Luke Le,

Sorry for late reply. Since we last spoke, presently, both
directories /Library/Mail/Bundles and ~/Library/Mail/Bundles
are empty of GPGMail.mailbundle.

But, I have seen GPGMail.mailbundle before, during one the
installs (.dmg).
What is the order in which I install the following. Which can I
omit? In other words the dependancies:

GPGMail-latest.dmg
GPGTools-20120318.dmg
GnuPG1.4.9.dmg
GPGMail-2.0a30.dmg

Thanks.

I think it's best if you simply install the GPGTools version
from <a href=

It has the latest version of GPGMail which is compatible with OS
X 10.7.5 and comes with all the newest versions of our
software.

Please let us know if that fixes your problem.

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/209917392012-11-26T08:52:58Z2012-11-26T08:52:58Zopen gpg grayed out, 10.7.5 osx

Luke Le,
Me again. Attached is my (public) key via cmd-shift-k, in a text
file.
To import my key, then:
Invoke GPG keychain access, import, point to that file, and use my
email (lpimmes@townisp.com).
I would do the same for your public.
This is right?
Thanks again.

to address your first question about the lock.
Some other users have already brought this up as well, which makes
me think that we should change it.
The idea of the open lock is to indicate that the message was
indeed successfully decrypted.
If there's no lock at all, the message wasn't encrypted in the
first place.
If there's a lock but it's closed, the message was encrypted but
failed to decrypt. An error messages will also be displayed.

As to you key importing question. Yes, these are absolutely the
correct steps.
You can either find my key by pressing apple + f in GPG Keychain
Access and typing 6F9F4937 or lukele @ gpgtools.org OR you used the
public key attached to this discussion.

Luke Le
