Class FlippedView - possible issue?
Hi guys,
As always, thanks for a terrific project! I really appreciate the work you've put in.
I have a strange issue, and as I was typing it into bugreporter.apple.com I thought better of it (and checked the logs).
My issue is that in Mail.app, in the "new" layout I have my
Inbox window set to sort by Date, Ascending. And it doesn't work
for some reason. I ascribed this to an apple bug, as I said, but I
looked at the log and found a number of messages like:
05Jan12 8:16:52.820 PM [0x0-0x4bd4bd].com.apple.mail:
objc[6361]: Class FlippedView is implemented in both
/Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail and /Volumes/KMP
HD/Users/kmp/Library/Mail/Bundles/GPGMail.mailbundle/Contents/MacOS/GPGMail.
One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined.
.
I have no idea what this class does, but seeing as it does have something to do with a view controller, I thought I should see whether there might be a GPGMail issue. This is GPGMail 2.0a21, and it does seem to be a rather recent occurrence. Thanks - please let me know how I can help. Screenshot attached...

Hi,
thanks for the kind words! We always appreciate it if people do use our work! :)
As for the error you're seing, you can simply ignore it and it really shouldn't be related to your problem, but we should rename it to avoid any possible bugs.
To check if this is in any way related to GPGMail, you can try to remove GPGMail temporarily by going into ~/Library/Mail/Bundles and rename the GPGMail.mailbundle file or move it out of there.
After that restart Mail.app and check if you can sort now. (It works for me without problems by the way.)
If it still doesn't work even with GPGMail deactivated you could rebuild your envelope index.
You do that by closing Mail.app and deleting the file ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index. (check that you have a backup first!)
After that open Mail.app again and let it reindex your messages.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Thanks!
I removed all bundles, and the problem persists, after rebuilding as you suggested... I'll finish reporting the problem to Apple. I appreciate the help!

Thanks.
Further exploration: I have 5 different accounts with servers under the "Inbox" section of that Mailboxes list; if I choose to view messages from any individual server they are sorted and displayed correctly. Though, I can, when viewing the individual server, sort each server differently when viewing only one. So, I think this is issue in code consolidating messages into one view. It may also have to do with fairly unusual Date and Time display preferences. We'll see if Apple has a clue. Again, thanks for the assist!

Hey K!
Thanks for the follow up. Let us know if Apple has some explanation for this.
