I have installed GPGTools on the following machine but it is not working
(apparently).

MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
Mail Client is Thunderbird (14.0)

The installation completed with an installation successful msg.

I can create keys

When I create a msg in Thunderbird there is no encrypt icon.

I can encrypt text in TextEdit

After fresh start of machine when I look for processes running there are
no GPG* processes

Only GPG Keychain Access shows up in Applications Folder

I have installed the latest GPGTools_Installer-latest.dmg
20-Aug-2012 21:41 23M Untested nightly build

I had PGP Desktop installed and when I uninstalled it a lot of stuff was
left behind so using
(http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/display/istcontrib/Manually+Removing+PGP+Desktop+from+Mac+OS+X)
I manually uninstalled it, re-started machine and then reinstalled
GPGTools - with same results.

I can send logs but do not know which ones are important

Any help appreciated.

Best regards

    Hi Ken,

If you're using Thunderbird, the Enigmail plugin would be more appropriate I think. http://www.enigmail.net/home/index.php

GPGTools consists of a toolset to add GPG services to OS X, but the GPGtools "Mail" plugin is for OS X's Mail.app I believe, not Thunderbird.

    Hi Ken,

    sorry for the late response.
Please verify that there's a OpenPGP Item in the Thunderbird menu bar and
verify that you see Enigmail if you check your Thunderbird Add Ons (Menu Bar -> Extras -> Add-ons)
If it's missing, Enigmail was not properly installed.

In that case please try to run the installer again.

@Pete: At the moment we're still including Enigmail, but might remove it from further releases. Thanks for helping out!
