Environment:

  • Software name and version: Current. GPGKeyChain Version 1.0b7 (1.0b7), GPGMail-2.0a30.dmg
  • OS X version: 10.7.4
  • GPGTools Installer date: GPGTools-20120318.dmg

What steps will reproduce the problem? Please be as specific as possible.

  1. ... Open GPGKeyChainAccess
  2. ...Import attached key
  3. ...Open GPGKeyChainAccess report key imported but it isn't

Nothing is imported

I check via the command line and I see

gpg -v -v --verify /Users/tshaw/Documents/sitedata_public_pgpkey.asc
gpg: armor: BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK
gpg: armor header: Version: Hush 3.0
:public key packet:

version 4, algo 3, created 1287123531, expires 0
pkey[0]: [1024 bits]
pkey[1]: [4 bits]

gpg: verify signatures failed: unexpected data

The command line indicates the key has problems yet this public key is in use by many people.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Tom

    Hi Tom,

if I try to import this key using the command line gpg says that the key is missing any user id's.

You can try this yourself using:

    gpg --import path/to/key

Could you have the owner re-export it?

Hey Tom, let us know how it goes. Also you might want to install the latest nightly from here http://nightly.gpgtools.org/ and download the latest GPGTools_Installer-trunk.dmg file.

That might also contain some important fixes which could help to resolve the problem.

    All the best,
