Sharing of public key on my website?
Hi all,
I´m considering using GPGTools to let my clients emailing me
securely.
Could / Should I post my public key on my website for everyone to
see or would that compromise security?
Thanks!
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
each key you create contains two parts. One is the private key portion, that is never to be shared! The other one is the public key portion, which allows people to encrypt to you. That key should indeed be shared.
Posting it on your website is one option, the other one, a little more comfortable one would be to upload it to a keyserver.
Your clients could then easily fetch it from the keyserver by simply looking for your email address which is associated with the key.
Hope that helps

Glad to hear!
I'll close this discussion but feel free to open a new one if you need help to figure stuff out.
Also, you should consider reading the Getting Started guide ( http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/how-to/first-steps-where-do-i-start-...).
It will help you get setup.
