Freeze in Thunderbird when opening encrypted mails

Environment:

  • Software name and version: gpg2 - gpg (GnuPG/MacGPG2) 2.0.18 - libgcrypt 1.5.0
  • OS X version: 10.7.3
  • GPGTools Installer date: Version 2012.03.18

What steps will reproduce the problem? Please be as specific as possible.

I use GPG with thunderbird and enigmail. It is mainly working (let's say 9 times out of 10). But sometimes and very difficult to reproduct, when I click to open an email in Thunderbird, thunderbird freezes, takes 100% of CPU and the only way to get is to kill and relaunch.
As the problem comes only with encrypted emails, I really think that it does come from an underlying layer of GPG.
Can anyone help me. I have this problem on two different Mac installed with same software versions.

Thanks a lot.
Renaud.

    Hey Renaud,

sorry to hear you are having trouble. This sounds like it will be rather hard to trace down. I think we'd need some console.app output while the issue is appearing.

That info might tell us where to look closer.

But in general for all issues concerning enigmail/thunderbird, the wizards from that camp might be the best to quickly identify the problem at hand. Here's a forum link: http://www.mozilla-enigmail.org/forum/

    All the best,
