Hi, I just added a new person to my keyring. I am using Firegpg for windows. He is using macgpg for mac. When he send me an encrypted message I get this error when trying to decrypt:

Decryption failed. Unknown error.
gpg: WARNING: "--no-use-agent" is an obsolete option - it has no effect

[GNUPG:] ENC_TO F09386941D2ACA97 1 0

[GNUPG:] BEGIN_DECRYPTION

[GNUPG:] DECRYPTION_FAILED

gpg: decryption failed: No secret key

[GNUPG:] END_DECRYPTION

I do have the secret key for that because i can go open any other message encrypted to me and it decrypts fine no problems.

Any idea what could cause this? He said he is encrypting the message with my key not his so that isnt theproblem? What else could it be?

Thanks

    Hi,

for some reason your sender might have an old public key of yours, which you no longer have the private key for.
Best is to check if the key id F09386941D2ACA97 matches your key.

Let us know if it works!
