GPGTools causes Mail.app to crash.
I am running OS X 10.6.8 and Mail Version 4.5 (1084)
I installed GPGTools-20120318.dmg and successfully generated keys for 2 mail accounts. It ran well until I changed preferences to make signatures the default in my mail messages. At that point Mail crashed on opening.
I uninstalled GPGTools and Mail runs fine. Now each time I reinstall GPGTools Mail crashes. Any ideas?
EDIT:
I have now installed the tools individually to see if I can
identify the culprit and it appears to be GPGMail 1.3.3 for OS X
10.6. I now get the error message that the crash was caused by the
PSMTabBarControl plug-in. Does this help?
EDIT2:
I've done everything that I can think of, including rebuilding my
OS from the distribution disks. I still can't run GPGMail. Does
anybody have any suggestions before I close this discussion?

Hey Fipine,
sorry for letting you hang in here without a reply so long.
Unfortunately we're not able to support GPGMail for 10.6 due to lack of resources.
If Lion is no option for you, you'll most likely have to wait till we backport GPGMail 2.0 for Lion to Snow Leopard.
Sorry I don't have a better reply currently. Feel free to hack on GPGMail's 10.6 source code if you are into that kind of thing.
All the best,
steve

Thanks Steve,
I wasn't aware of that. Thanks; it makes more sense now. I must have been lucky with my first attempt. I do have a Lion machine on which GPGMail works fine, so I'll just wait to set up my older laptop.
