How to decrypt messages

I am wondering how to send an encrypted message to a recipient (obviously using their public key) by copy and pasting the textthat begins:
-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- Version: GnuPG/MacGPG2 v2.0.18 (Darwin)
Comment: GPGTools - http://gpgtools.org

hQEMA4Ny3+5YgxvbAQf+JJx8ypXwUCs6Ru etc. etc
Is copy and pasting that chunk of text and emailing/private messaging it to the recipient all that is necessary? If this is indeed the case then how does the recipient decrypt that chunk of text? Or I should say If I received a message like that encrypted with my public key, how would I decrypt it.
Thanks,
Taylor

    Hey Taylor,
actually that is what GPGMail should do for you. Could you please run the latest GPGTools Installer from our nightly page: http://nightly.gpgtools.org/ and then see Quickstart Tutorial how all this stuff works?

Should open questions remain please feel free to ask afterwards. :)

    All the best,
    steve

Unfortunately I do not have leopard and I can't use that. Do you have a link for gpg that will work with mac os x 10.5.8?

    Hey Taylor,
10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

If you are getting Lion you'd be able to use GPGMail 2.0 :)

    Cheers, steve
