MAC PGP Key Services!

Hi, I'm having some difficulty when it comes to simply choosing "Encrypt" and "Decrypt" and all other GPG services, from the drop down "Services" menu. What I am trying to do (and have done in the past) is encrypt a simple memo on a textedit. However the textedit Services (nor any other Services drop down choices) no longer has the option of selecting the many GPG Key services, including Encrypt, Decrypt, etc... When I go to Keyboard in system preferences, then Services, there is an empty space where I do not even have the option of checking the checkboxes to make these GPG services enabled. I then go to GPG Preferences (in system preferences) and click FIX GPG Tools, and that doesn't help either. Again, the options of decrypting, encrypting, (etc) used to easily be available under Services, and now all that Services says is "Building..." which I cannot click on.

Please forgive this ramble, I've had a tiring night, and also forgive the simplicity of my technical knowledge here. It used to just be an automatic given after finally figuring out to switch on these preferences under "Keyboard" then Services. But now there are no options. Is there a way around this to simply command "Encrypt" to send messages?

Thanx to those who are understanding of a simple yet baffling problem. Hope I explained it okay enough... The main thing is that there are no Services to check under "Services" so I can use those shortcut commands in Encrypting text, any longer...
