<p>welcome to the GPGTools support platform. This is partly covered in the <a href="https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/kb/faq/should-i-sign-outgoing-messages-when-contacts-are-not-using-openpgp">KB-article</a> which explains, why it is still a good idea, to sign outgoing messages.</p>

<p>There is a mechanism to auto-retrieve public keys in order to verify a signature, when the public key is missing on your local keyring. On macOS with GPG Suite find that feature in System Preferences > GPG Suite > Settings > Key Server.</p>
<p>That would then require no further action on the receiving end to verify the signature and download the key form the verifying key server.</p>
