Platform: macOS Catalina Version 10.15.4

GPG Keychain is more than great. It is outstanding.

However, today, I discovered that version 1.5 had failed to update automatically to 1.5.1 on or about its release date of November 15, 2019. After this discovery, I downloaded and verified GPG_Suite-2019.2.dmg, and the manual installation of version 1.5.1 was successful.

Going into the future, will users need to confirm at https://gpgtools.org/ whether a new release is available, or will GPG Keychain automatically install updates per the 2 active preferences (1) GPG Keychain > Preferences > Updates > ✓ Automatically check for updates; and (2) System Preferences > GPG Suite > Settings > ✓ Automatically check for updates

Earlier today, on my system, version 1.5 inaccurately indicated the following:

GPG Keychain > Check for Updates... > You're up-to-date! GPG Suite 2019.1 is currently the newest version available.

For at least the past 8 months, my system constantly has held the following 2 settings:

(1) GPG Keychain > Preferences > Updates > ✓ Automatically check for updates

(2) System Preferences > GPG Suite > Settings > ✓ Automatically check for updates.

Data on my external backup drive shows that on August 22, 2019, GPG Keychain automatically updated on my system to version 1.5.

Today, I confirmed that the 2 settings I previously had selected on or about August 22, 2019, still held the same settings: (1) GPG Keychain > Preferences > Updates > ✓ Automatically check for updates; and (2) System Preferences > GPG Suite > Settings > ✓ Automatically check for updates.

Expected
I expected GPG Keychain to automatically update per the 2 preferences: (1) GPG Keychain > Preferences > Updates > ✓ Automatically check for updates; and (2) System Preferences > GPG Suite > Settings > ✓ Automatically check for updates.

    Hi Mokanneling,

thanks for taking the time to report this problem and your nice words.

The automatic update has not yet been enabled. We hope to do this soon. So the behavior you are experiencing is expected.

We understand many users rely on automatic updates which is why we are working on enabling that with highest priority.

    All the best,
    Steve

    Hello Steve,

    Thanks for the information.

Looking forward to GPG Keychain enabling automatic updates.

In the meanwhile, I have no problem with checking for updates manually.

    GPG Keychain is aces.

    Best regards,
    Mokanneling
