GPG Mail: Probleme mit Mac Mail wenn S/MIME Default

Hallo GPGTools-Team,

Ich habe derzeit einen Trial von Eurer GPGTools Software auf dem Mac laufen. Es funktioniert auch soweit gut, mit einer Einschränkung.

Ich nutze zum größten Teil S/MIME. Das soll auch nach wie vor der Default in meinem Apple Mail-Client sein (Standard Client in der aktuellsten Version von Apple). Ich habe gesehen, dass es dafür einen versteckten „Schalter“ gibt:

Allerdings - und das auch nach Neustart des Rechners - wird dann zwar S/MIME als Default oben rechts in der Ecke angezeigt. Aber auch nach dem ich auf OpenPGP gewechselt habe (es wird auch grün angezeigt), wird nach wie vor mit S/MIME signiert/verschluesselt.

Ich kann dann also OpenPGP nicht mehr nutzen.

Ich wäre fuer jede Hilfe dankbar.

   +1 - doing "defaults write org.gpgtools.gpgmail DefaultSecurityMethod -int 1" gave me the ability to encrypt once again using GPG, but then S/MIME will not work (claims there is no public key available sending to users for which I do not have a PGP key).

   willkommen im GPGTools Support-Forum. Es tut uns leid zu hören, dass es Probleme bei der Benutzung von GPG Suite gibt.

   Bitte entschuldige die späte Antwort. Wir haben gerade mehr Support anfragen als sonst und arbeiten diese so schnell wie möglich ab.

   Für dieses Problem gibt es ein Ticket. Ich habe diese Diskussion mit dem entsprechenden Ticket verknüpft. Das bedeutet, sollte diese Diskussion geschlossen werden, wird sie wieder geöffnet, sobald das Ticket geschlossen ist. So bleibst du auf dem laufenden und erhältst eine Mitteilung, wenn es etwas Neues gibt.

   Das Problem auf macOS Catalina ist, dass aktuell nur der gesetzte Default verwendet wird. Ein Umschalten zur alternativen Methode klappt derzeit nicht. Ein Wechsel ist also aktuell nur über ein Umschalten der Default-Methode möglich. Das ist nicht ideal und wir werden schauen, diesen Fehler bald zu beheben.

   We have a ticket for this problem. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.

   The problem is, that currently in GPG Mail on macOS Catalina, that switching away from the default method is not repected. That means whichever method you set as default it will always be used. Switching via the top right indicator will not be repected. So the workaround currently is to switch the default. Obviously that is not very convenient and we will try to resolve this problem soon.

   Hi all,

   the issue where GPG Mail was not respecting, when the method was switched via the top right indicator in a mail draft, has been fixed. If you want to test the fix, please download our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That page also has Signature file and SHA256 to verify the download. Thanks for helping us test this fix.

   Should the problem persist, please do let us know.

   Should you see trouble using GPG Suite in the future, don't hesitate to get in touch and open a new discussion any time.
