Is it possible to provide a realistic approximate date when GPGTools will support Catalina?

Gustaf Olssontag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T08:39:21Z2019-10-31T08:39:21ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

Seriously Gents ! first you stopped supporting my GPG in Mail telling me that I needed to purchase a support plan in order to use it, and then now, I cannot use it because you guys havent developped a supported version - though Apple have released a dev version of the OS months ahead of the public one ?? who are you kidding ???!!

Aminetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T08:45:32Z2019-10-31T08:45:33ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

When are you going to refund me?

Or answer my email about Apple's Mail app disabling your plug-in.

I paid and supported GPGTools but still no update for Catalina.

Please at least give a timeline / date for even the beta version that can work with Catalina

David Butlertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T11:23:54Z2019-10-31T11:23:54ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

You can still encrypt or decrypt your content with the finder extensions. Ok, it is a bit annoying but should work until it is released for catalina. For me it is ok.

sonictag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T11:47:12Z2019-10-31T11:47:14ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

If it works that would be a nice workaround. I've been using the command-line encrypt/decrypt the most necessary emails though with the XML/HTML formatting the output is not fantastic.

As the emails does not contain a "clear text" encrypted message to copy and paste for decryption, can you use the finder extension to decrypt the "encrypted file" that is currently the email message body?

Will this also work for encrypted file attachments?

(I'm asking dumb question as I do not have access to my computer right now)

Gustaf Olssontag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T11:51:39Z2019-10-31T11:51:40ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

My problem is that i receive a lot of encrypted emails daily. I purchased GPGTools for convenience, but it's a real hassle to decrypt manually.

Also, you should probably not indicate the issue can be expected to be resolved "next week" and then not provide any updates when you fail to meet that deadline.

If this was still a free service I would not complain publicly or be as angry. However, as this is now a paid service and I am a paying customer I expect that the company or person charging me for their service would take their responsibility towards a paying customers seriously and definitely offer compensation for any downtime of the service I am paying for.

Anyway, this is quickly turning in to an angry rant and that is not the intention. As initially stated, a realistic and public estimate of when the service will be available again would be appreciated.

Gustaf Olssontag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T12:26:19Z2019-10-31T12:26:19ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

@Gustaf Olsson Yes it should work. Just try to save them on your desktop and then with "right-click" on the file and under "services" you can decrypt the file. You can also still use the commandline for it.

sonictag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-10-31T12:37:45Z2019-10-31T12:37:46ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

@sonic Nice, thank you for that tip! we wanted to get you up to date in regards to GPG Mail for macOS Catalina:

GPG Suite 2019.2 is very close to being complete and ready for public release and here is Release Candidate 2 of GPG Suite 2019.2 including GPG Mail 4 which adds macOS 10.15 compatibility.

Once GPG Suite 2019.2 is publically released, you will automatically be notified. Just make sure that update checks are enabled in System Preferences › GPG Suite.

We are very sorry that this release took longer than we had anticipated.

Best,

Lukas

Luke Letag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-11-12T12:23:31Z2019-11-12T12:27:28ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

here's the deal: after all the barking we've been doing and the ignoring attitude, enters now the break: the support plan that you all have purchased is valid only for GPG Mail 3 - in order to use the current one: GPG Mail 4 ... you will need to pay for another one ! but wait ... there's a "token of appreciation of 30% off" if I choose to upgrade !
here's the screenshot that I have got when I installed the RC2 - please guys tell me that this just a release candidate and that won't be the case for the final public version... I'm starting to get really fed up at this. Really!

Amine Etag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-11-12T12:25:12Z2019-11-12T12:25:13ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

Dear Lukas.

Thank you for your response.

I tried to update using RC version and when its installed it is asking for an upgrade in my support plan, i realy don't understand why, i already paid for a support plan and least than a year the service that i paid for its no longer working because of you and now you intent to chage me again with another support plan???? realy????

I don't want a 30% discount, i want what i paid for......

More than a month later to try to charge me again with a new suscription ..... i don't think so...

I wait a quick and serious answer regarding this issue, otherwise i will serious consider to take legal actions.

Regards.

GPG Mail 4 seems like "GPG Mail 3 that actually works on Catalina".
I also feel cheated on the license I purchased.

Paying for GPG support in my email client was a significant mental step. Now it feels like a subscription for every time there is a macOS upgrade.
Not for me, sorry.

Petertag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-11-12T14:56:04Z2021-01-01T12:36:56ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

You are out of your minds if you think people are going to pay 25euro less than a year later for a 'support plan' when the first release you actually made that needed support you want to charge again.

This is consistent with the first point in the "support plan", and the FAQs.

"All regular updates for GPG Mail (current major version)"

"You mention the support plan covers one major version of GPG Mail. How often will a new major version be released? A release of a new major version of GPG Mail will most likely coincide with a new major macOS release, but certainly not more often than that."

Neiltag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/477848952019-11-12T15:57:18Z2019-11-12T15:57:19ZGPG Mail: Compatibility issue with macOS Catalina

Yo shoud stat that clearly in terms of the service that users may need to
renew (and pay) new support plan even if the support plan was purchased
whitin a few months.

In my case i will NOT renew the support plan, i would if your response to
the release date of the update to Catalina and the update of GPG Mail was
days away and not weeks!!!!

I am very upset with the way you handle the hole situation.
