My son installed this and he wanted to protect my emails for me. Only it is a pain now and I want it removed. Can’t send emails because I can’t remember the pass phrase.

Hi Lesley,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
Before you kick eail encryption to the bin a few things I want to share:
in case you forgot the password for your OpenPGP key and have no way of recoving the password, you can disable the key in GPG Keychain. To do that double click the sec/pub entry in GPG Keychain and in the new window tick the option "Disable". After that the key entry should be greyed out and you will no longer be using it.
You are using a very old macOS version. If you can we wuold highly recommend to upgrade to a newer release.
If you want to keep using eail encryption you can just create a new key. This time you can store the password in a secure location.
If you still want to give up on email encryption, this KB-article explains how to uninstall GPG Suite or GPG Mail only.
And if you have any further questions don't hesitate to aks.
Kind regards,
Steve

Dear Steve,
Thank you so much for your response. Yes, this is a bit of software that my son put on my computer which does not serve me. It is too sophisticated for me. It was just preventing me from sending my messages. I have uninstalled it, but need to see if it really did the trick. Thanks.
Lesley

Sure, if you get stuck or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
And if you ever want to return to mail encryption also you are welcome and we would be happy to assist if anything gets stuck during setup or if you run into trouble.
Kind regards,
Steve
