I recreated the keys using the Tools suite (rather than command line gpg) and this now works as expected

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Glad to hear you were able to get to a working state.

I don't yet fully understand what was going on, with your setup. Could you share more details how you had created your sec/pub keys initially? Have you now created new keys? In that case, make sure to not delete the old keys but keep them. And if you are using the same email in more than a single key, I would suggest to open GPG Keychain and double click the the entry you do not want to be using. Then tick the option to "Deactivate". That will ensure you are always using the intended key for encryption.

All the best,

Sorry for the delay in responding! Happy New Year

That all seems to be sorted now! To be clear what I did was:
Force unlinked homebewq gpg - I do have some other stuff which uses that but I will try and get that going by putting symlinks into your versions
Removed the .gnupg directory in my home directory
logged out and in again - then check that the gig-agent running was the MacGPG version
Recreated the keys!

All seems good. Can encrypt flies from the services menu and also sign and encrypt emails!

Wow!

Many Thanks

This is great news and thanks for sharing the steps back to a working environment.
