GPGServices: Lack of preverence settings
Which of our tools is giving you problems? GPGServices 1.11.3
If one wishes to encrypt files only why does one have to faff so much and deselect 'Add to Recipients' and addressees? and select 'Encrypt with password' every time one uses this feature... Its shortening my bloody life expectancy!

Dear Rev Lawrence,
I understand what you mean it's a real pain in a mac's USB port!
Some numpty wants you to think they are clever so force you to click a lot of pointless options to make it do something simple, when indeed a simpler mortal would let to set up default actions so the end user could decide.
We can all but pray.

I agree with what's been said. The facility could be much better and more user friendly.
Have they heard of RSI? Or maybe they get commission on every pointless click you have to make?

Yeah babes, why can't I just encrypt straight off without storing into a keychain or adding to recipients...all I want is to encrypt a file?

Maybe I can write a song about it? How I lost faith in gpg....de dum, de dum. I had to remove it from my mac ....de dum, de dum. I couldn't encrypt my songs anymore...de dum, de dum. I had to go elsewhere..de dum, de dum.

Yes, the user interface of GPGServices is not particularly nice to use. It’s not out of lack of ideas, but rather of limited resources which are sometimes better invested in our other tools, such as GPGMail.
You might have noticed that this tools is provided to you for free. The source code is available, so everyone is free to improve it and adapt it just the way they want.
As Steve mentioned, this particular “bug” is on our todo list.
Try to be a little less snarky next time around. It doesn’t really help anyone.

Hi all,
GPGServices does now remember the checkbox status of Sign | Add to Recipients | Encrypt with password. If you want to test the fix, please download our latest hotfix GPG Suite. That page also has sig and SHA1 to verify the download.
Should the problem persist, please do let us know and re-open this discussion.
Should you see trouble using GPG Suite in the future, don't hesitate to get in touch and open a new discussion any time.
