Is there any formal support for this? I find that each user's mail.app individually looks to be updated. Is this going to be a problem? Or…?

If every users on your Mac secured their secret key with a password, no

    Hi Randolph,

the permissions on the machine for private and public keys are usually set as such that other users can‘t access the files. If GPGMail is currently installed in ~/Library/Mail/Bundles it will be updated on a per user basis. If you want to keep it up to date for all users, you can move it to /Library/Mail/Bundles/

    Hope that helps.

Let me add, since there new 0-days for root access are often found, it‘s very important that your secret keys have a strong passphrase (as mentioned by Some Dude)
